BEIJING, Oct. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — This is a report from China.org.cn: In talking about the notable advancements in the strategic alliance between China and Jordan over the past decade following the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative, Jordan’s Ambassador to China, Hussam Al Husseini, noted, “The ties between China and Jordan are deeply rooted in history, dating back to the times of the ancient Silk Road some 2,500 years ago. Presently, the bond between our two nations is not only enduring but also strengthening.”

In recent years, the China–Jordan relationship has been constantly evolving. Ambassador Husseini said: “Serving as Jordan’s ambassador to China not only allows me to contribute to deepening the friendship between China and Jordan, but it’s also an opportunity to understand Chinese civilization and history from various perspectives and witness China’s development and progress.”

Ambassador Husseini also mentioned that in addressing global challenges, Jordan and China can cooperate in more fields to jointly tackle many of the current issues. He said: “Responding to global humanitarian crises is an important topic of cooperation between China and Jordan. Jordan always receives support from our Chinese friends in this regard.”

Thanks to Jordan’s favorable business climate, Chinese companies have participated in numerous construction endeavors within the country. Ambassador Husseini outlined several reasons why Chinese companies are willing to invest and do business there. Security and stability are among the primary considerations. Besides, Jordan boasts an impressive pool of human resources and a robust, dependable banking infrastructure.

Jordan, with its storied history and vibrant culture, stands as a premier travel destination. The nation has meticulously preserved vital cultural artifacts from epochs including the Arab and Roman periods. Given the surge in Jordan’s cultural tourism sector, more Chinese travelers are opting for Jordanian getaways. Ambassador Husseini is confident that Jordan’s rich tourism offerings will continually captivate Chinese tourists.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of launch of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past decade, the initiative has become a significant platform for international cooperation. The third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing on October 17-18.
